SEMINYAK, INDONESIA – The container ship SOUL OF LUCK hit the pier at the TPKS Container Terminal Semarang Port, northern Central Java, Indonesia, today, on arrival from Port Klang, Malaysia.
SOUL OF LUCK continued moving and allided with berthed general cargo ship CERIA 8 (MMSI 525060609, length 51 meters, flag Indonesia). CERIA 8 broke off her moorings and moved along the pier, accompanied by sounds of crashing and steel tearing.
Horrifying results are clearly seen on the video – the ship struck a gantry crane, causing the crane to collapse. According to local sources, it is not known yet if there were casualties or injuries.
The container ship SOUL OF LUCK was eventually, tackled and berthed. Its damages are unknown at this time.
